How does swimming mode work?

The swimming mode is activated by default and is configured with a swim goal set to 30 minutes by default. To activate/deactivate swim mode or change your swim goal, launch the iHealth MyVitals application: MENU> Set up my devices> Select your Wave (AM4)> enable/disable swim mode or change your swim goal.

iHealth Wave automatically enters the swimming mode after 20 seconds of continuous swimming and exits automatically at the end of the session (swimming mode must be activated). Thanks to its 3-axis accelerometer and a specially developed algorithm, it recognizes three different styles of swim: breaststroke, crawl, backstroke.

All the data measured by iHealth Wave can be synchronized with the iHealth MyVitals application via your smartphone but all the useful information are also visible directly on the iHealth Wave screen during your swimming session:

  • Number of breaststroke, crawl or backstroke (STR)
  • Number of breaststroke, crawl or backstroke per minute (SPM)
  • This summary remains visible for 30 minutes. It will be synchronized with the app like the other data and will have a dedicated view in the app.
