In activity mode, the iHealth Edge shows the following information:
Date and time
The date and time are automatically updated as soon as you connect your iHealth Edge to your smartphone.
Number of steps
The iHealth Edge records the number of steps taken during the day thanks to a specially developed algorithm, coupled with a 3-axis accelerometer. Whatever your are doing, walking, running or climbing stairs, each step is recorded allowing you to assess your day to day activity and compare it to the objective of the World Health Organization (WHO recommends to make 10000 steps per day) or to your own goal.
The number of steps is reset every day at midnight. Data not synchronized are recorded in the internal memory until the next synchronization. See the article How to synchronize my iHealth Edge?
Distance traveled
The distance traveled is calculated from the number of steps taken and the information registered in your profile (height, weight).
The distance traveled is reset every day at midnight. Data not synchronized are recorded in the internal memory until the next synchronization. See the article How to synchronize my iHealth Edge?
Calories burned
The iHealth Edge calculates the number of calories burned throughout the day depending on your physical activity but also depending on your basal metabolism.
Basal metabolism is the minimum amount of energy required by your body to maintain vital functions at complete rest. At rest, the body uses energy to maintain the activity of your body (heart, brain, ...).
Basal metabolism is determined by age, sex, height and weight.
That's why when you wake up, even if you have not made any step, you will already see a certain amount of calories burned.
The calories burned are reset every day at midnight. Data not synchronized are recorded in the internal memory until the next synchronization. See the article How to synchronize my iHealth Edge?
Activity level
To help you to stay motivated, the iHealth Edge rewards you when you reach different levels of activity. Depending on your objective (10000 steps by default according to the WHO recommendations), you progressively climb up the podium each time you pass a level.
You can set up your goal in the app going to MENU > Settings > Goals
Workout summary
When you walk or run for more than 10 minutes without stopping, the iHealth Edge enters the workout mode and exits it after 5 minutes of break. A summary of this workout session is displayed on the screen and is available for 30 minutes after the other information visible on the iHealth Edge.
This summary shows the duration of the workout session, the number of steps, distance traveled and calories burned during the workout session.
This summary will also be synchronized with the app and will be displayed in a dedicated view.
